Tom Godbert is an award-winning composer based across Melbourne, Australia and Wellington, New Zealand. Originally from Melbourne, he comes from a varied musical background, with experience in classical/orchestral performance, small jazz combo playing, electronic music production and songwriting. Tom is passionate about communicating stories through music, and has helped artists across all disciplines bring their works to life. His music has been featured in films, series, advertisements and theatre works across Melbourne and internationally.​​​​​​​ In 2024 Tom began a residency at the Australian Centre of the Moving Image through ACMI X, where he worked out of an office alongside other creative professionals in the heart of Melbourne. During this time he scored over 20 films, including both shorts and features, as well as composing and sound designing for plays featured in the Melbourne Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe, and Midsumma. Tom also gained experience in writing music for advertising during this period; his music has been featured in campaigns for internationally recognised brands like Mercedes-Benz, as well as staple Melbourne-based brands such as Mutimer and Roasting Warehouse.
